The house was the object of a substantial reconstruction of the existing structure previously rebuilt from a villa with an internal swimming pool.
The emphatic form of the roof, which derives from a primitive logic of a private swimming pool, was kept in the reconstruction project to remind the original profile.
The general image was aimed at two basic objectives: simple and accurate volumes, composed within the basic house format of a square form; and natural or technologically advanced materials, such as stone, iroko wood, e the plaster of a red Bologna-type colour. The particular characteristic of both colour and material texture is given by the usage of copper in a ventilated roof made of two curve coverings which gives an emblematic touch to the building.
The south and north facades correspond to the day and night areas, and are created through a ventilated wall made of dark cardose stone, and their "sandwich"-composition includes huge sliding door-windows and gratings in iroko wood for house protection and internal luminosity gradation control.
The internal space is absolutely open. The living room space includes kitchen, dinner room and living room areas, and the night area integrates a big bathroom and a gym, while the bedroom suite contains also a wardrobe room and a private relax area.
The big importance is given to the floor covering: Venice-type covering has a continuous weaving design on all the fundamental levels, the one where billiard is situated and the underground one; the loft platform, instead, is made of European maple.
All the structural elements of the furniture and furnishings are of exclusive author design, all well-coordinated and combined to give a noble look to the villa: stainless steel for metal parts, massive wengè for the parts in wood, white "cloudy" marble for the bathrooms, alabaster for the dividing wall between the living room area and the night area and the gym.
The artificial lighting is created by the usage of floor lamps in the relevant points of the building and by small lamps hidden in the ceiling along the south and north walls to give a wash-wan effect to all the perimeter of the villa.
